Fire Safety Education
Fire Prevention programs are presented to organizations, businesses, and groups throughout the year.  Several different activities are done during these presentations from live fire burning to general fire safety. For more information contact the Fire & Burn Prevention Office.  


Edinburg Insurance Ratings
All residential is locked in at 16 cents per $100.00 evaluation.  Commercial properties are rated under the new Insurance Service Office rating system, Edinburg has a class 4 rating.  


Life Safety Achievement Award
In 2003, and for the past six years, the Edinburg Fire Department was recognized by the Texas State Fire Marshal's Office for our work in keeping the Edinburg community free of fire deaths.  

 

The Fire & Burn Prevention Office, also known as the Fire Marshal's Office, is a versatile department with the main purpose of the protection of life and property.  Benjamin Franklin once said "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." The Fire Marshal's Office takes great pride in all of our fire prevention activities.
