The Edinburg
Volunteer Fire Department has a dorm program that provides
free housing for qualifying individuals. The program
was implemented for students who are attending college and
cannot afford on-campus or off-campus housing.
Individuals who have at least a part-time job may also be
eligible for the dorm program. The program gives the
students an opportunity to serve the community, gain
skills, and develop leadership qualities. Interested
applicants must follow the entry process as stated
below.
1. Complete an
application for dorm membership.
2. Complete a Release of Record form.
3. Provide two character references.
4. Be of good moral character
5. Be single and be at least 18 years of age and not
over 35 years of age.
6. Be committed to providing at least six months of
continuous service.
7. Work at least a part-time job or be a
full-time college student.
8. Maintain a 2.0 GPA while residing in the dorms.
9. Submit to an interview with the Dorm Commitee
10. Be approved by the Administrative Review
